see, I became a writer sort of by accident while I was trying to be
something else.
I was the middle child of three girls which might
explain a few things. Well this is my theory.
Not the oldest, not the youngest, I was never quite
sure where I stood, who I was or what I wanted to be. Did I want
to be the funny one who fell off her chair on purpose or the serious
one who the teacher actually liked? The mysterious one boys were
keen on or the friendly one they actually talked to?
I wanted to

illustration, graphic design, textiles and architecture. I eventually
plumped for illustration, changed my mind a year later and studied
decorative arts. When I left art school I was no nearer knowing
what I wanted to do than I was before, except that I knew I didn’t
want to be a decorative artist. Then I spent several more years
being not sure.
