The Henrietta Branford Writing Competition
The Henrietta Branford Writing Competition is open to any young writer under the age of 19. Six winners are invited to the celebration party in London. There they can meet authors, editors, publishers, agents, and other professionals in children's publishing.

The six winners were:
- Sarah Hunter age 17 years,
- Hannah Rodger age 14 years,
- Ben Rothwell age 13 years,
- Bethan Winterton age 14 years,
- Abigail Hand age 14 years,
- Hywel Edwards-Sim age 8 years.
There was also a winner from the USA: Irtiqa Fazili.
Bethan Winterton won the prize draw of £500 worth of books to give to a school or library of her choice. She is pictured here with Carl McInerney M.D. of Peters Books who sponsor the prize.
