The Guardian Children's Fiction Prize Longlist. 18th July 2003.

The Guardian has announced an eight-stong longlist for its prestigious annual Children's Fiction Prize. The list includes books by Kevin Brooks, Keith Gray and Mark Haddon which are also on the Booktrust Teenage Prize shortlist.

The Guardian Children's Fiction Prize Longlist

Julia Eccleshare, the Guardian children's books editor and chair of the panel of judges, said of the longlist; "...the inclusion of these new voices marks a step forward, as it challenges children to examine the prejudices of society and offers them an ever-widening understanding of the varied world in which they find themselves."
 
The shortlist expected to be announced during September, with the winners announcement being made on 4th October 2003.
