H Smith "People's Choice" Book Awards 2004

The
awaited winners for the annual WH Smith "People's Choice"
Book Awards, 2004 have now been announced. Some 148,000 readers cast
votes via book stores, the internet and libraries to select winners
in eight categories.
Terry Pratchett's The Wee Free Men collected the
'Teenage Choice Award', given to the best book of 2003 written for
12-16 year olds.
Other winners of the evening included J K Rowling, who managed to
beat Mark Haddon and pick up the Fiction Award for Harry Potter
and the Order of the Phoenix. Rowling described the award as
"wonderful". |
