Public Lending Right Figures .... June 2003 - June 2004

   

Figures released by Public Lending Right confirm that in 2003-2004, books by Jacqueline Wilson were borrowed over 2 million times from public libraries, thus ensuring her place as the nation's most borrowed author for the second year running. Her publishers are also celebrating the fact that Jacqueline has now sold 20 million copies of all her titles.

The PLR scheme has distributed over £89 million to authors since its inception. £6.55 million will be paid out in February 2005 for book loans over the period July 2003 - June 2004. The maximum amount paid to any author is £6000.
